SOCIAL WORKER (PART-TIME)

HAMILTON

“Supporting Families and Whānau” - “Caring for tamariki (children)”

We are looking for a Registered (or eligible to be registered - or newly graduated) Social Worker to support family and whānau with complex needs through intensive, individual case management, child care and protection who are referred to our services.
The role requires:
  • Working one-on-one with whanau/families/children and young people
  • Completing assessments/ plans alongside family/whanau
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to set clear boundaries, self-manage, and be highly accountable
  • Knowledge of family violence practice and/or trauma-informed work 
  • Practical written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify and understand the needs of our communities
  • Understanding of tikanga Maori 
  • Competent crisis and risk management skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships 
  • Proven experience working in a bicultural and multi-cultural context.
You will need to have:
Experience:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, however, will consider new graduates
  • Suitably family/social work experience
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Level 6 Social Work Qualification
  • Qualified Social Worker or Registerable as a Social Worker with NZ Social Worker Registration Board;
  • Current NZ Registration
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence (Clean – Class 1)Relevant experience in Social Work

RECEPTION ADMINISTRATOR

Join Kake Oranga Hāhi Katorika, Catholic Family Support Services, a values-based and whānau-centred social service committed to social justice.

We're seeking an experienced Reception Administrator.


The role includes:

·        Reception and administrative responsibilities
·        Frontline Whānau and Family Support
·        Assisting the homeless and vulnerable people
·        Engaging with whānau and families referred by community,                    government agencies and others
·        Distribution of emergency food parcels and items
·        Coordination of functions and events
·        Finances and Invoicing
Can you demonstrate:
·        Excellent people and communication skills
·        Strong time management
·        Highly organised and proactive workflow
·        Insight into community needs
·        Proven written and oral communication
·        Proficient computer literacy
·        Understanding of Tikanga Maori
·        Clean full NZ Drivers Licence (Class 1)
·        Building effective relationships with clients, families, whānau,                  team, and external agencies
·         Experience in bicultural or multicultural contexts
